I was raised in a small town in Northern California, the kind of town that we shared our high school graduation stage with our 2nd glade classmates.  Amidst this small town, we had an incredible arts program, one that led me to state level choirs, big competitions, and a big personality to match my collection of sequined clothing.

I lived in Orange County/Los Angeles for 5 years, changing my path from music education to nutrition thanks to a diagnosis of vocal nodules (see: Pitch Perfect)  I went from avoiding all things math and science, to diving into it head first.  I completed my bachelors degree in Nutritional Science, and my dietetic internship leading to my status as an RD.

Since graduation, my high school sweetheart and I moved to

Florida > Texas> South Carolina > Japan > Texas (all for his work as a jet pilot).

My run-ins with eating disorders, anxiety and self-doubt, combined wit the last 3 years of pregnancy and motherhood have molded me to be the woman I am today.

A mom motivated to keep growing and to inspire others to live their best life.  To not get caught in the fear that I did (and sometimes still do) and continue to change the world around us for the better.

I have found that the good things in this life come from when we are outside our comfort zone.  When we set goals that scare us a little bit.  Only then can we grow as better humans, and learn more skills that help us to better serve the world around us.

If you're curious about my lifestyle, I have tried everything from "clean eating" to "flexible dieting".  I have followed meal plans ranging from 1200 calories of chicken, rice and broccoli to eating pizza and ice cream after every workout. I spent years tracking my food intake and learned what food could look like on my plate and in order to reach certain goals, and I have also spent years away from tracking. Pregnancy and breastfeeding changed my relationship with all of this.

I used to post so many pictures of my body, and while I

A. think the human body is DOPE, and

B. and super proud of mine in particular,

I find that my life isn’t only about that anymore. And that freedom + appreciation is AWESOME. And I want that for YOU!

Our bodies need different things daily, and I think that's the beauty of a truly healthy lifestyle-it can be customized no matter what stage we are in or what our goals are.  I know that living a healthy lifestyle is achievable; everyone can do it! On your first try or thirtieth.  No more yo-yo or crash diets, just customizing our healthy choices so they fit into our current lives, and most importantly- trusting the process as we go along!
